What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent makeup (PMU) is a form of tattoo done by machine implanting pigment into the dermis of the skin to create a makeup effect. Tiny, sterile, single use needles are used in a variety of techniques to either create hair strokes or powder effect.
How long does PMU last on the skin?
Modern permanent makeup has actually changed over the years and is now semi-permanent. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, and a refreshing touch up is required at 8 weeks post first session. Ombre brows typically can stay on the skin for up to 3 years and requires less touch ups.
What is Microblading?
We create hair-like strokes along the eyebrow to enhance, reshape or create a natural looking appearance of natural hair.
How long is my appointment?
Each session goes case by case but usually 2-3 hours.
Second session (touch up) is not included in the initial price.
Second sessions may vary from depending on service starting at $200
Does it hurt?
This all depends on yourself and your pain tolerance. Numbing cream is applied before the procedure and numbing gel is reapplied throughout. Most clients experience slight discomfort and very few experience pain.
How long is the healing process?
Usually for permanent make up and microblading there’s a 10 day period of scabbing and skin exfoliating. Depending on your skin type you might get more scabs then others, once the skin exfoliates they start looking more natural.
I have a special event coming up, how much time should I plan ahead of time?
Ideally, You should start your first treatment 2 months in advance. This will give us enough time for a touch up and proper healing. If you are not able to get it done that far in advance a month would work as well!
How is my shape and color chosen?
Before I start any cosmetic tattooing I will discuss with you your goals. I will use several methods to measure and map out a shape that works with your features. You will be allowed to have me make any changes you want until you are happy! Color will be chosen out to match your natural hair. I normally start out light and darken at the touch up if needed. Colors range from light to dark and cool to warm.
How can I prepare for my appointment?
Avoid alcohol beverages 24 hours before your appointment. As well as aspirin and coffee the day of your appointment as this thins your blood.
What is the aftercare like?
I will provide you with everything needed for your aftercare. The first day you will be instructed to wash them 3-4 times with gentle cleanser applying ointment after each wash. For the next 7 days you will keep them as dry as possible and only applying a small amount of ointment twice a day. Aftercare is pretty easy to follow, however, failure to do so could lead to infection.
Who is not suitable for permanent makeup?
If you are pregnant or nursing pmu is not suitable for you. Please wait until you are no longer pregnant or nursing to book an appointment. The following is a list of people who are not good candidates. If you are unsure of a medical condition or medication affecting your pmu please contact me or ask your doctor for clearance.
Currently undergoing Chemotherapy radiation
Can Microblading cover up a scar?
Microblading is great for covering up scars as long as they are healed! Please send me a photo if you have a scar you are hoping to cover up. Most of the time I will recommend some shading or Ombre brows as it will do a better job at covering up.
